Kwadwo Asamoah helped Juventus to give their Uefa Champions League campaign a glimmer of hope after beating Danish giants FC København 3-1 in Turin but Frank Acheampong's Anderlecht allowed in a late Rodrigo strike in a 3-2 home defeat.

The duo were the only Ghanaians in action on Wednesday night as their clubs sought to better their qualification hopes.

Asamoah lasted the entire duration at the Juventus Arena as the Old Ladies moved a step closer to advancing to the next round of the competition after their victory.

Chilean international Arturo Vidal scored a hat-trick for Juventus with Olof Mellberg grabbing the consolation goal for FC København.

Elsewhere Frank Acheampong was introduced by Anderlecht ten minutes into the second half in their 3-2 home loss to Portuguese side SL Benfica.

Anderlecht have already exited the competition after picking just a point from Group C.
