Lone goal scorer for the Black Queens in the finals of the All Africa Games that won Ghana gold Portia Boakye has insisted that her goal was a well rehearsed goal and not luck as some people want to describe it.

Portia Boakye's 86th minute strike was the only goal of the game which eventually won gold for Ghana and she claims that the strike was well practiced from the team's training.

"The goal was a well rehearsed goal. Look our coaches have trained us well to that effect. So when the ball was dropping, I knew the technique to use to get the ball into the net," Portia said in an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com

"I believe that there is luck in football but let's praise the coaches for what they have done. Coach Bassigi is very technical and trains us very well. I am happy to have scored that goal," he added.

Portia's volley from the left foot a few meters away from the eighteen box came from a rebound from Agnes Aduako' penalty which was saved by the Cameroon goalie.

Portia Boakye's goal was reminiscent of the goal scored by former France captain Zidane in the 2001 Uefa Champions League final with Bayern Leverkursen from a cross from Roberto Carlos.
