Ho Chi Minh City: Myanmar flexed their muscles to secure their second victory in the 2017 ASEAN Futsal Championship after beating Philippines 25-0 in a Group A tie at the Phu Tho Stadium on Saturday.

Pyae Phyo Maung sizzled with five goals for Myanmar to take his tally to nine in a tournament which also serves as a qualifier for the AFC Futsal Championship 2018.

Coach Htay Myint fielded the same side which beat Brunei 13-0 in their opener on Thursday. His team picked apart Philippines who have now lost three games in a row - against Indonesia and Vietnam respectively.

Myanmar got the ball rolling in the first minute when Naing Ye Kyaw picked out Nyein Min Soe at the edge of the penalty area.

The midfielder scored the first of his three goals past a hapless Enrique Thaddeus Ortiz and Myanmar never looked back after that as they cruised to 14-0 lead at halftime.

It was the same scenario after the break, Phillipines tried their luck with a defensive approach but were often outmatched by their opponents' strength and agility.

Myanmar lead Group A with a better goal difference ahead of Indonesia and Vietnam who face each other later on Saturday.
