Napoli and Juventus to hold talks over Higuain

Published on: 17 July 2016

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will meet with Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta to discuss a deal for Gonzalo Higuain.

It follows reports that the Partenopei star had personally requested a transfer to the Bianconeri, despite De Laurentiis’ best efforts to keep him at the Stadio San Paolo.

As reported by ANSA, De Laurentiis and Marotta are to hold a meeting in Milan on Monday to finalise details concerning a transfer for the 28-year-old Argentine international.

It is not yet clear what the outcome of the meeting will be, however it is highly possible that the talks will conclude with Marotta accepting an obligation for Juventus to pay Napoli €94.7 million over the course of two seasons for Higuain.

There had been suggestions that Juventus would add forward Roberto Pereyra to the deal, however Marotta would probably be inclined to limit the losses as much as possible for the Turin club.
