Napoli coach praises side’s humility in Empoli victory

Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri has praised his player’s humility in their 5-1 victory Empoli at the San Paolo.

The Partenopei responded to an early setback by firing five unanswered past Lukasz Skorupski in the Empoli goal to reclaim top spot in Serie A.

“The team did well, it was good game against an opponent who started really well but faded toward the end of the game,” Sarri told Mediaset Premium after the game.

“In this group there are players who have played for Real Madrid, but they are very humble.

“I’m proud to coach these guys.”

Sarri acknowledges the strength of Juventus but does not believe the Scudetto hinges on the goalscoring form of Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

“Dybala is an extraordinary player,” added the Napoli coach.

“But it’s not about having the best striker in the league, otherwise last year Hellas Verona and Inter would have been able to compete with Juventus.”
