Napoli midfielder warns club to cut out mistakes

After seeing his team sneak through against Carpi, Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has urged his teammates to work hard to cut out mistakes.

Napoli maintained their slender two point lead atop Serie A with a 1-0 victory against strugglers Carpi, although they were unconvincing and needed a penalty to see off their 10 man opponents.

“It must be said today that we made too many mistakes,” admitted Hamsik to Mediaset Premium.

However, the Slovakian didn’t want to dwell too long on the squad’s deficiencies and also made sure to heap praise upon yet another victory – and one which extended their winning run to a record eight consecutive victories.

“It’s a great achievement to win eight consecutive games, and next against Juventus we expect a great match and a good battle,” he continued.

“We now have a week to study and train for an opponent who is doing well, we know it’ll be tough for us.”
