Napoli to offer attacking duo contract extensions

Published on: 10 May 2016

Both Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens are set to extend their stay at the Stadio San Paolo, with Napoli offering extensions to run until 2020.

Maurizio Sarri is thought to be a keen admirer of the duo, particularly the Spaniard, and with both contracts set to expire in 2017, he is determined to tie them down to a longer deal.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the two parties have already met to discuss terms and an announcement is growing ever closer.

Callejon made his move to southern Italy in 2013, signing from La Liga giants Real Madrid, and has since established himself as an important player for the Partenopei. This season, he has appeared on 37 occasions in Serie A, scoring seven goals and assisting a further seven in the process.
