Nepal to warm-up for Asian Cup 2019 Qualifier with Japan tour

Kuala Lumpur: Nepal will get some valuable game time ahead of their AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Qualifiers Group F tie against Tajikistan with a five-match playing tour of Japan.

Nepal national team head coach Gyotoku Koji has named a 24-player squad for the tour, retaining all the players who were selected for the previous Asian Cup 2019 Qualifier against Yemen on June 13, which finished 0-0. 

Nepal will start their Japan tour against J.League side Gamba Osaka's U-23 team on August 13. Up next will be Kwansei Gakuin University on August 16 with regional football team Amities Sports Club the opposition the following day. 

Nepal will face Hannan University on August 18 and will complete their tour by playing J.League club Vissel Kobe’s U-18 team.

Nepal opened their Asian Cup UAE 2019 Qualifiers campaign with a 4-1 defeat to the Philippines.

Defenders: Biraj Maharjan, Ananta Tamang, Man Bahadur Tamang, Kamal Shrestha, Debendra Tamang, Jitendra Karki, Bimal Basnet, Rajendra Rawal and Dinesh Rajbanshi.
