Who Is This New 22-year-old Ghanaian Linked With Arsenal?
Jeffery Schlupp

Scout Report: Jeffrey Schlupp

The hunt for the bets youngsters in England often leads to the top clubs tapping into the youth products of other Premier League clubs, rather than work on youth academies, a lot of top clubs are willing to pay top dollar for complete products rather than having to spend time and money on developing them.

The latest point being that regarding Jeffrey Schlupp, the 22-year-old Ghanaian, who plays in the Premier League for Leicester City enjoyed a decent first season in the league as he helped the Foxes stay in the division, now it seems that both Aston Villa and Arsenal are trying to sign the player, who has always been a Leicester City product.

England, Germany or Ghana?

Although Schlupp was born in Germany, his father moved to England where he completed his education and was a part of the Leicester City youth system and was then sent on loan at Brentford to hone his skills, he came back to Leicester in 2011 and helped the club return to the Premier League last season.

He plays for Ghana internationally as a left-winger or a left back, depending on the need for the team that is one of his great assets, his versatility. Schlupp has good pace which is something that is needed by most players in the Premier League and is a fairly tricky customer to deal with when it comes to the winger taking on defenders.

He is a player who always gives it his all and can never be picked on for not playing to his maximum on the field but for all his speed and positional ability, he does have a few rough edges which needs to be polish before he can be considered as one of the best defenders or attackers in the league.

He doesn’t have the best ability in terms of winning headers and does have an issue of getting off the ground which is not a good thing in terms of defending set pieces. Schlupp is also extremely left-footed which means he cannot cut in with the ball onto his weaker foot and needs to work on this, the ability to play with both feet is a requirement in the league and Jeffrey will have to be prepared to put in the hours to make this trait of his better.

Schlupp does have the potential to become one of the best players in the league but there is a lot of work to be done and signing for a top manager like Arsene Wenger could help him achieve his goals, soon.
