New Edubaise official Joe Abu Salam claims the club is yet to retrieve a $150,000 loan given to their deceased patron David Lamptey.

The money according to the New Edubiase official was given to the once revered philanthropist to conduct some personal business.

The former Member of Parliament who died in December 2012 was however unable to return the burrowed money from the club before meeting his untimely death.

“Hon [David Lamptey] made a request for the money to conduct some business and despite by objections because it was the same time we were embarking on our African campaign, Abdul Salam [club owner] urged the money be given to him,” Joe Abu Sala, told Metro FM.

“We are however yet to get the money back and contacts made to the family have not yielded any positive results.”

But the wife of the deceased business mogul, Gifty Lamptey, says her checks indicate the money had been returned.

“We have checked with both our internal and external bankers and there is a trail of money of the same amount cashed out of one of the accounts four months before David’s death,” she said.

“I cannot confirm whether indeed the cash went back to the club but then there was such a withdrawal from one of the accounts.

"We all knew he was one of the major financiers of the club. He pumped lot of money into that club.

"For now I don't know anything about the said amount owed New Edubiase."
