New Edubiase United Chief Executive Alex Ackumey insists they will survive relegation despite their shaky start to the season.

The Movers are 12th positioned on the log with 12 points from 10 games and have been tipped for demotion.

But a shock win at Asante Kotoko followed by the last week’s 2-1 win at home against Berekum Chelsea seem to have brought their campaign back on track.

Ackumey admits it is normal for his side to labour to retain their Premier League status.

"We are not a big club in Ghana so don't expect us to win the league. If we win the league, it's an extra bonus,” he told Kumasi-based Boss FM

"Even in Europe there are average teams. We don't have huge budget to attract massive crowd like other teams have drawing 20,000 and 40,000. Some of the clubs like Great Olympics that had good budget are even relegated.

"Appreciate us when we are able to finish 12th or 13th in league because that's where we deserve. Look at the players we have producing in Ghana.

"We sign players from lower tier leagues to make them stars after two, three seasons so don't expect us to win the league or finish fourth.

"Our ultimate target is to avoid relegation and stay in the top flight and we are working towards achieving that."

New Edubiase travel to Sekondi to play Hasaacas on Sunday.
