New Edubiase president Abdul Salam Yakubu was the calmest man inside Len Clay after his side completed a dramatic final-day escape from relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight on Sunday.

The Movers produced a dazzling performance to beat giants’ killers Heart of Lions 4-2 and avoid the drop to the country’s second-tier.

A brace each from Bernard Ofori and Fuseini Nuhu handed the home side the crucial points to safeguard their top-flight status.

The final whistle sparked bedlam with a mass pitch invasion but afterwards Yakubu said: Relief is the overwhelming feeling at this time.

“I am very happy. Now I can sleep and rest. It was a tough game but we managed to win this match,” he said

“I want o thank my players and tell them I’m grateful for the show of love and commitment.

“We are playing in the league next season and I’m very happy. To the management and the board, I will forever be grateful.”

The defeat consigned Lions to demotion after a difficult campaign this term.
