New faces expected in Black Stars squad today, four top players axed for AFCON qualifiers

Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari will be axed from Black Stars squad

Several new faces are expected when the Black Stars squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers is named later today as top names like Sulley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng will be dropped.

AC Milan star Michael Essien and goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey are also expected to dropped from the squad for next month's matches against Uganda and Togo.

The quartet, who fell out with the Black Stars technical team at the recent World Cup, are not expected to be named in Kwesi Appiah's squad for the start of the qualifiers.

Muntari was axed from the Black Stars squad at the World Cup with an indefinite suspension for physically attacking management member Moses Armah.

Boateng was handed a similar punishment for verbally abusing coach Kwesi Appiah which means both will not be considered for the two matches.

In the aftermath of the tournament it emerged that Essien refused to warm-up with his team-mates before the match against Portugal while Kwarasey questioned the competence of the goalkeepers' coach.

This means several players who were not part of Ghana's World Cup team are expected to be named in the squad to face the Cranes and the Hawks in Kumasi and Lome respectively to replace those who will be axed.

However, key players like Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Christian Atsu, Andre Ayew and Harrison Afful are all expected to be named in the team.

The Black Stars, who are four-time champions, begin their qualification quest in Kumasi on September 5, before flying to Lome to take on Togo four days later.

Which new players do you want in the Black Stars squad? Do you think the four players should be axed? Make your views known in the box below:

We should sack Kwesi Appiah rather than player. The whole technical team lacks idea and direction.

I believe the whole Nation should rather think about how FA should send people who are actually needed for that particular tournament to the games instead of sending people who travel on the ticket of the team with tax payers money with their so called girlfriends to distract the players. What would you have done if you dont get paid after working and some people who just walk by doing nothing are enjoying the money that should have been used to pay you. Don't forget that this is what they do for a living. Just let you know that I am not in support of physical attack but rather the FA should have known better.

The clueless coach is bringing divisions to the squad. Sack the stupid coach and bring back our stars. People saying Black stars is bigger than any player should rather think of say BLACK STARS IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUELESS COACH. That sounds a lot better. Stupid coach who is only thinking about the mouth watery salary he is earning.

Useless fools. GHANA is also bigger than any corrupt officials or incompetent coach. Corrupt officials who put 100k a week players into economy flights and leaking hotels. We seem to have forgotten but these problems will not go away themselves. If I was these players I will get eu citizenship and avoid premier league England football and concentrate on club football. The should stick to the local players because they are more likely to suit their amateurish activities

This is the point. Limit the unnecessary entourage and just include those who are needed. Make sure there is a good accountant who can arrange all payments before hand and a separate person who can handle airline and hotel logistics. The talent is there. We should be able to not only qualify but win the entire cup. However, lack of proper organization will destroy the team if we do not prepare well.
