Head coach of New York Red Bulls Jesse Marsch has hailed the physical condition of Ghana defender Gideon Baah and tips him to excel in the upcoming season.

The 24-year-old has not played active football since 18 October 2015 when he last featured for HJK Helsinki in a 4-0 Finnish League victory over Mareihamn.

But head coach Jesse Marsch says Baah is physically fit to take the league by storm.

“He’s had some games, but he hasn’t had a full 90 minutes in a couple of weeks. His team’s been training for a month after the Christmas break, so he’s fit,” Coach Marsch told New York Red Bulls official website.

“I thought he had a very good first day; very easy on the ball, very confident. And it wasn’t an easy first day with what we did in training.

"We made things very fast and chaotic, but it was a good first day for him to see how we do things. Overall, I think he fit in very well and showed all his qualities.”
