Newly-appointed Ebusua Dwarfs coach sets Premier League survival target

Newly-appointed Ebusua Dwarfs coach Prosper Nartey has an immediate target of helping the side to avoid the drop.

Nartey, a University of Cape Coast lecturer, has been appointed to replace veteran JE Sarpong.

The former Elmina Sharks trainer has set his eyes on helping the struggling side to avoid relegation.

“I know there is pressure at Dwarfs and it is because in football and coaching you can’t do without pressure especially in Ghana,” the former Aduana Stars player told Asempa Sports.

“My aim is to help the team out of the relegation zone and we thank God the first round has not come to an end and we have second round of matches so I will sit down with the management and the technical team to see how we can get out of the relegation zone and that is our major ambition.

“I wasn’t an insider, I was only watching their matches so when I start meeting the various stakeholders of the team, I will be able to pinpoint the major challenges of the team that has prevented the team from performing.”

He will taste his first Premier League action when Dwarfs host Berekum Chelsea at the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast next Wednesday.
