Nigeria's Under-20 female national team, the Falconets, recorded a 2-1 win over their Ghanaian counterparts in a friendly game played at the Accra Sports Complex on Friday.

The Ghanaians opened the scoring through Christiana Boateng in the third minute of the game. But Uchenna Kanu equalised for Nigeria eight minutes later.

Both teams went into the break on level terms, but a late goal from Winifred Eyebloria in the 86th minute saw the Falconets claim victory over their West African rivals.

The second friendly comes up on Sunday, 8 June at the Liberty Stadium, Dansoman Accra Ghana.

The match is one of international friendlies to be played by the Falconets before the kick-off of the World Cup in Canada.
