No chance for Yaw Yeboah as Ghana U20 assistant trainer tips Malian Adama Traore to win CAF Youth Player Award

Ghana Under-20 assistant coach Yaw Preko has ruled out the chances of whizkid Yaw Yeboah to clinch the 2015 CAF Youth Player Award.

The France-based midfielder was among rising stars nominated for the individual award after an impressive year.

The 18-year-old is being recognized for his immense performance with the Ghana U20 team both at the Africa and World Cup tournaments in the year under review.

But the country's Under-20 coach Yaw Preko has downplayed the youngster's  chances, insisting Malian Adama Traore will clinch the accolade.

“Yaw has done well for himself, he was one of the best players for the Black Satellites at the African Cup and also won the overall best in the tournament,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.

“But I think he will face a very tough competition from the Malian player (Troare) who won the best player at the World Cup.”

“I think Yaw had a big chance to win it especially after his award at the African Cup but I think the Malian guy winning the best player award at the World Cup will make it a little bit difficult for him.”

Yeboah's sublime performance earned him a big move to Manchester City but has been sent on loan at French side Lille.
