Premier League club Norwich City signed Norway midfielder Alexander Tettey from French side Rennes for an undisclosed fee on Friday.
Tettey agreed a two-year contract with an option for a further year and will complete his move to England subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old, who spent three years in Ligue 1 with Rennes, becomes Norwich manager Chris Hughtonââ¬â¢s seventh signing and will be watching from the stands on Saturday when his new club face QPR at Carrow Road.
Hughton told Norwichââ¬â¢s website: ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m delighted to have Alexander on board and I firmly believe he will be a valuable asset for us.
ââ¬ÅHeââ¬â¢s a very good player with international experience, and heââ¬â¢s at a good age for us.ââ¬
Tettey, who has Champions League experience with Rosenborg, was born in Ghana, but he is a naturalised citizen of Norway and has won 14 caps for his adopted country.
