Police arrested some rioting Okwahu United  fans during a second-tier 1-1 draw against Istanbul on Sunday.

Fans of Okwahu United went on rampage and attempted to assault players and officials of the visiting team during their 1-1 stalemate at Nkawkaw.

Istanbul, based at Akyem Techiman, took the lead before the home side pulled parity but angry fans charged on the match officials and the visiting team, resulting in the police raiding in on the rampaging supporters.

Okwahu United fans are gradually carving a niche of being notorious and displayed yet another sorry episode for Ghana football at the Brightons Park.

The soccer mountaineers have endured a difficult campaign this term where they are currently languishing in the relegation dog-fight with four games to end the season.

The next four games will be crucial to their survival as further slips could prove disastrous in their survival push.
