Nuru Sulley is baffled by his snub by Ghana

Accra Hearts of Oak defender Nuru Sulley is perplexed by his continuous snub by the Black Stars.

Though the 22-year-old excelled at the African Nations Championship earlier this year, playing along Kwabena Adusei in central defence but he has been consistently overlooked by Ghana coaches.

Kwabena Adusei, who was Nuru's partner in defence was handed his debut Ghana call-up during last week's 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea but the Hearts of Oak has failed to make the squad.

"I don't know why I've not been called up because I played regularly at the CHAN with him (Adusei) and I don't know whether its because he is playing in South Africa," he told Accra-based Oman FM.

Everyday people talk about the fact that home-based players are not given the chance unless they go abroad and this is an evidence of that."

Nuru signed a contract for Al Nasr but has returned to Hearts following the indefinite suspension of the Libyan league due to the political crisis in the country.

"I have come back to Hearts and I'm ready to work and break into a starting spot though there are new lads in the squad and competition will be keen but I will work hard for my place," he added.
