Former U-17 star Nii Odartey Lamptey believes the right way for the current Black Starlets team to meet Black Stars materials is by giving them proper grooming.

The Black Starlets have been drawn in Group A alongside host country India, Colombia and USA for the competition that is slated to commence on October 6.

Many connoisseurs hold that per the performance the team put up in the Africa Youth Championship in Gabon where they finished 2nd behind Mali, most of the players are primed for success in their respective careers.

But according Odartey, the nation's football governing body should consider giving them adequate grooming in the wake of the World Cup in India in order to fulfill their potentials.

"The boys are good, but are we going to give them the opportunity to develop well?, the problem is after tournament we forget about these players, but what we need to do is after the tournament we need to groom them and pass them through the U20,U23 and possibly to the Black Stars."

Odartey was part of the Ghana's U-17 team that won the 1991 FIFA U-17 World Cup and was voted as the best player of the tournament.
