America-based striker Dominic Oduro is ecstatic over his maiden Ghana call-up saying he has been expecting an invitation following his excellent performances for Chicago Fire.

The 26-year-old speedy attacker is among the 18 players invited by coach Goran Stevanovic on Sunday for the friendly against Chile on Wednesday.

Oduro will join up with the Black Stars for the first time on Monday when they open camp in Philadelphia ahead of Wednesday's friendly with Chile.

The striker is delighted at the opportunity of playing for the Black Stars after expecting a call-up in the wake of his good form for Chicago Fire.

‘It’s really exciting for me. I think as a player it’s one of your dreams to play for your country," Oduro said.

"Being called upon is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time and it really feels like one of my dreams coming true."

Oduro has been a delight to watch for Chicago Fire this season, having scored 12 goals in 33 appearances for Chicago Fire last season.
