Asante Kotoko have bolstered their defence with the signing of centre-back Ahmed Adams, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The former Berekum Chelsea player penned a three-year deal and becomes a direct replacement for Rashid Sumaila.

Adams was available on a free transfer after leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Shoulla Sport Club Al-Kharj Suadi.

He featured in the CAF Champions League with Berekum Chelsea in 2012.

Adams’ signing increases the number of Kotoko players registered for the 2014/15 season to 29.
