Hearts have announced midfielder Kofi Abanga has left the club by mutual consent.
The 26-year-old has been told to look elsewhere after failing to impress new coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
Abanga joined Hearts under controversial circumstances six years ago from Aduana Stars where he failed to shine despite his immense talent.
Hearts have confirmed severing ties with the once highly-rated midfielder.
’’It is true that Hearts has broken their long term ties with Kofi Abanga after he failed to impress the coach in the pre- season exercise but we wish him all the best of luck,” club's spokesman Kwame Opare Addo told Ghana Sports Newspaper.
The midfielder was touted as the next big thing when he emerged on the local scene with rivals Kotoko and Hearts involved in a long-winding tussle until he finally signed for Hearts.
