Kotoko have released these 11 players on free transfers

Ghanaian giants Kotoko have confirmed that big stars Isaac Boakye and Burkinabe goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye are among 11 players they have axed ahead of the start of next season.

The management of Kotoko in consultation with the technical team handed release letters to 11 players of the club on Friday.

Five U-20 players are part of the 11 that are on their way out.

Former Ghana and German Bundesliga striker Boakye leads the names released by the Kumasi-based club while Burkina Faso shot-stopper Soulama has also been shown the exit door.

The players who have been released are: Aminu Mohammed, Akwasi Bobbie Ansah, Isaac Boakye, Osman Bashiru, Soulama Abdoulaye and Bismarck Kwarteng who recently returned from a loan spell at Amidaus Professionals.

The rest, all from Kotoko’s U-20 team are Yaw Acheampong, Mujeeb Hamid, Stephen Owusu, Saddick Alhassan and Ishmael Musa.

Kotoko will have the task of defending their league and FA Cup titles in the 2014/15 season while they also seek to make a meaningful impact in Africa next year.

The projection is that, some new players and those yet to come will help the club to achieve its objectives.
