Exclusive: Karim Alhassan signs for Zamalek

Egyptian giants Zamalek have signed Ghana youth international Karim Alhassan on a free transfer for five years, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

GHANAsoccernet understands the Cairo-based side will pay US$ 1.3 million to the promising centre-back in his five-year stay.

The 20-year-old rejected an extension of his contract with Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak after the expiration of his contract at the just ended season.

He becomes Zamalek's fourth summer signing as new coach Hassan Shehata seeks to build a squad capable of lifting the trophy next season.

Alhassan was a member of Ghana's Under-20 team which failed to defend the African Youth trophy in South Africa this year in South Africa.

Compatriots Junior Agogo and Rahim Ayew had difficult spells at the club and were frustrated to quit the five-time African champions.
