OFFICIAL - NEWCASTLE sign Danish youngster Sorensen

Published on: 12 August 2016

Through an official note, Newcastle announced having signed Elias Fritjof Sørensen:

"Newcastle United have signed Danish teenager Elias Fritjof Sørensen on a scholarship.

The 16-year-old forward became HB Køge's youngest ever debutant when he came off the bench in a Danish first division game against Silkeborg IF last season, and has made a total of five appearances for the Svanerne (the Swans), all as a substitute.

He has represented his country at under-17 level and, having been regularly involved at under-17 level for HB Køge last term, will be based at United's Little Benton Academy.

'It's a big, big moment for me and I'm very glad to sign with this Club," said Sørensen, who will turn 17 next month.

I hope I'll progress as quickly as possible but first, I will concentrate on developing as a player.

I'm still very young but I have high hopes for the future'".
