On-leave substantive coach of Elmina Sharks Kobina Amissah has tipped Aduana Stars to raise the flag of Ghana high as they participate in the CAF Champions League competition next season.
Amissah believes the Ghanaian club champions have what it takes to cause a positive stir on the continent despite their little experience in the competition.
According to him, he believes in the materials of the champions and is convinced that they will be able to rub shoulders with the other clubs on the continent in the competition.
“It’s a good team and I will be surprised to see them exiting the competition early. I expect them to go far in their quest to be a household name on the continent,” he told Hot FM in Accra.
“Looking at the Aduana Stars squad, they will have to make some few additions and that will be enough. They don’t need too many players to beef up the team.
“Daniel Darkwah has enormous experience as a left back and so is Godfred Saka. They only need backups because of injuries. Wahab Adams and Anokye Badu have been superb at the heart of defence and Zakaria Mumuni is a great winger so they don’t need much to do.
“They’ve good materials and I expect them to go places. I have enjoyed them while the season was ongoing because I was monitoring them,” he added.
Amissah who qualified Elmina Sharks into the Ghanaian top flight could not end the season with them as he was asked by management to proceed on an indefinite leave – an action that makes him still the coach of the side with Yaw Acheampong still in an acting role.
