Former Ghana youth midfielder Aaron Opoku has lofty aims - and he thinks English side Nuneaton Town are the club to help him reach them. Opoku, who has played youth football for Ghana, was announced as a Boro player at the Nuneaton Town fans forum last Friday. He snuck under the radar as his name had not been mentioned before the event. But the midfielder-cum-striker is confident that will not be the situation for long. He said: "I want to play Football League, that is my aim and I think I am good enough to do that. "Obviously if I do well here I will put myself out there. "I am aiming for League One or Championship, but to do that I have to do well for Nuneaton first. "I believe I can do that. I am confident I can get goals at this club." He added: "Anyone who went to that forum might not think I am that confident. I came across quite shy when I was introduced to the fans. "But get me on the pitch and it is all different. Get me on the pitch and I show how confident I am. It is out there that I like to do my talking." Opoku comes with a big reputation, if not a glittering past in the game. His last club was Coventry Sphinx and before that he turned out for Hereford United, but he has had clubs interested at higher levels. He said: "I have had trials before at other clubs but for one reason or another it never worked out. "I have also played for Ghana at youth level. I was in the team with players from Arsenal and Manchester City. "It was incredible. "I want more of that, but I know to do that I need to do well for Nuneaton on a regular basis. That is my only goal now."

The club participates in the National League North, the sixth tier of English football.
