Left-back Faouzi Ghoulam has resumed training with the rest of the Algerian squad after successfully recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Napoli fullback now looks set to be in contention for the Fennec Foxes' opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations encounter against South Africa on Monday 19 January.

While Ghoulam's return will be a big boost for Christian Gourcuff, the Algerian head coach could be without centre-back Rafik Halliche for their clash with Bafana Bafana.

The 28-year-old has continued to train on his own as he recovers from a calf injury.

Algeria left Algiers for Malabo on Thursday morning before heading to Mongomo where they will kick-off their AFCON campaign against Shakes Mashaba's troops.
