Orlando Pirates coach benches Fatau Dauda against Kaizer Chiefs in PSL curtain-raiser

Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic has decided to stick with first choice goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa at the expense of World Cup goalkeeper Fatau Dauda for this weekend’s Carling Black Label Cup at Soccer City.

The Bucs will take on their perennial rivals Kaizer Chiefs in this weekend’s curtain raiser ahead what promises to be a nail-biting season.

Dauda will not start despite having an impressive display at the tournament in Brazil.

The Ghana international played second fiddle to Meyiwa last season, playing only three games despite arriving with a huge reputation.

Dauda has stated he is willing to move on if he cannot be guaranteed playing time as his continual stay on the bench nearly cost his position at the national level.

The 28 year old will not be short of suitors if he indeed decides to walk.

But for this weekends Carling Black Label cup Vladamir Vermezovic has decided to stick rather than twist barring any last minutes challenges.

Chiefs: Khune – Gaxa, Mashamaite, Mathoho, Masilela – Katsande, Maluleka, Letsholonyane, Lebese – Mphela, Nkhatha

Pirates: Meyiwa – Jele, Sangweni, Mahamutsa, Matlaba – Segolela, Myeni, Manyisa, Klate – Majoro, Erasmus

Football sites like this should do a proper research before reporting in order to give factuall information to their readers/bloggers. I just happened to stumble on this site, I'll be in countries like Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal and Nigeria on a talent scouting mission. I hope to find more football sites/journalists/commentators who can give factual information on talented young players.

This is very misleading and incorrect!! Carling Black Label Cup is an innovative tournament that is sponsored by SAB Miller to get football fans involved in their teams. South African giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs participate in this annual tournament. Teams selections are made by football fans via SMSes through a month long campaign. Fatau Dauda might actually get a chance as the game progresses, football fans make substitutions as the game progresses. In addition two football fans become guest coaches for the day.
