Orlando Pirates rave about Fatau Dauda's World Cup displays

South African Premier Soccer League side Orlando Pirates have lauded goalkeeper Fatau Dauda for his impressive displays at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Dauda was benched for Ghana’s first Group G match against USA but was re-instated for the 2-2 draw with Germany.

He was retained between the sticks for the final match against Portugal in Brasilia.

Dauda’s committed a blunder and helped Cristiano Ronaldo to score the match winner in the 2-1 defeat.

He flapped an aerial ball back into play for the Real Madrid star to smash home but Orlando Pirates were impressed with his overall performance in the tournament.

“Dauda has shown he is a goalkeeper of stature and talent. It takes a special keeper to deny one of the best players in world football, Cristiano Ronaldo's multiple efforts on goal. Dauda has made us very proud as a club, " Pirates PRO Mickey Modisane said.

"Pirates is one of only two clubs in the PSL to have a representative in the 2014 World Cup. We look forward to the experience he will bring from Brazil which will make him a better keeper."

The following players need to take a break and work their way back...John Boye, Fatau Dauda, Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Agyeman Badu...they should work on their common sense and being team players

Give us a break! Dauda is a seriously flawed goalkeeper. He's the worst overall that Ghana has displayed in an international competition. He will not be Pirates number one, neither will any European team sign him up. Who are we kidding?

Enough said about this Dauda guy. Orlando Pirates are only being polite because he is one of their own. I can understand them. Their coach is wiser than Kwesi Appiah when it comes to selecting a man to man the post. Dauda is not well liked and he should diminish and fade himself out of the public scene and do his business quietly somewhere until he is truly good enough if he ever will be. If Kwesi Appiah is a man of integrity, he will resign and do himself some good to avoid further public humiliation. He should know by now that he is not gifted as a coach, but power is addictive. I am holding out my support for the BS until changes are made. I cant possibly support this.

Give me a break! Fatau Dauda does not have the quick instincts of a good goalkeeper. I watched the German-Algeria match and was impressed with the Algerian keeper. Dauda does not come close to the quality of that keeper. Why do you think he warms the bench in South Africa? The Black Stars need a total overhaul if we are to seriously impact the world in football in the future. Lots of pretenders need to be weeded out. Discipline should be the core of the team--its mantra. I cannot fathom us repeating the flaws that followed the team to Brazil and the disgrace and embarrassment that emanated from it. Ghana has enough talent to bring us back to the glory days of football. Enough of this foolishness.

Come on man, you need some growing up to do. If Dauda reminds you of a money, why don't you look in the mirror. What do you see? Yourself. We are all primates. There is nothing special about you. You did not make yourself.
