Premier League champions in-waiting Berekum Chelsea have recalled head coach Orlando Wellington, dispelling talks of his dismissal.

The national Under-20 coach was asked to step aside for two weeks after returning from the Africa Youth Championship in South Africa where Ghana put a disappointing display and made a shock  exit.

The move suggested the club are on the brink of parting ways with the ex-Heart of Lions boss but that has been squashed.

"Nobody has sack him and such reports are untrue. When he came back from South Africa he was just asked to take a two week break and it was misconstrued as dismissal by sections of the media," Public Relations Officer Vincent Kofi said.

"Unfortunately in Ghana when people are asked to proceed on any form of leave, coming back is always difficult and mostly taken as dismissal."
