Ostersunds defender Samuel Mensah eyes Europa League win against Galatasaray

Ghanaian defender Samuel Mensah is optimistic of helping Ostersunds eliminate Turkish giants Galatasaray from the UEFA Europa League but reckoned the task ahead at the Turk Telcom Arena.

Mensah was instrumental for the Red and Blacks in last week's 2-0 win over the 20-time Turkish giants in the UEFA Uefa Europa second round qualifiers in Sweden.

The 28-year-old kept up with that form over the weekend when he scored for the side in their 2-1 win over Djurgrden in the Swedish top flight league.

The former Orebro defender is among the 23 players which manager Graham Potter has assembled for the epic clash, and he's relishing the opportunity to advance to the next stage of the competition.

“It is going to be an exciting game. Galatasary is a great team with name in Europe but we will go all out there and get the results which will see us to the next stage,” Mensah told footballmadeinghana.com

“Personally it has been an exciting week for me, I scored against Djurgarden in the league on Sunday. I did my best also in the first leg against Galatasary at home and I am hoping to have a great game,”

“This is our first time in the competition and it is great for us, we are doing our best and we hope to go far,”
