Osu Community Beach Soccer team pulled a huge surprise to lift the giant trophy at this year’s Homowo Beach Soccer Cup at the Laboma Beach Soccer Arena as part of activities to commemorate the annual festival.

Teshie Community, hosts, were handed a shock after the Osu lads registered a 4-3 score line to lift the trophy for the first time.

The Osu lads did not only win the tournament but also swept away most of the awards at the event with Erasmus Botchway and Prosper Quaye winning best player and best goalkeeper respectively.

The best scorer award went to Ebenezer Laryea of Nungua, whilst the best coach was taken by Edward Hammond of Osu.

Before reaching the final, Osu beat Nungua through the lottery of penalty kicks with Teshie thrashing La by 4-1.

La came back strongly in the third place match to beat Nugua 3-1.
