The maiden edition of the Otumfuo Cup was launched in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Ghanaian champions Kotoko will play host to regional rivals Ashantigold on September 20 as part of activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the club.

The event which took place at the Ceetadel Hotel in Kumasi and attracted top officials including the club’s chief executive Samuel Opoku Nti as well as the Marketing Manager of United Television Kojo Wiafe.

The game is expected to attract huge numbers as it reignite the rivalry that exist between the Porcupine Warriors and the miners.

The event is being put together by My Sports Organisation in collaboration with the Despite Group of Companies.
