Our best wasn't enough against Kotoko - AshantiGold new star Alhasan Nuhu

Ashanti Gold new boy, Alhassan Nuhu has stated his side’s performance wasn’t enough against Kotoko after falling to the Kumasi lads by a goal in last Sunday’s SWAG Cup match.

The Obuasi-based club hopes of winning their first off-season trophy hit a snag after Eric Donkor’s breath taking late strike separated the two sides at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The win thus give Asante Kotoko their first off season trophy ahead of the upcoming league season after going trophyless last season.

However, Alhassan Nuhu who joined Ashanti Gold from New Edubiase on a two year deal has stated that their performance against Kotoko wasn’t enough.

“We went into the game to get the trophy because we believed we possessed the quality to do so, Though we did our best but it wasn’t enough,” Alhassan Nuhu said.

The box to box midfielder continued: “It was a last minute goal we conceded. It is part of the game. At one breath one team can get the needed luck and Kotoko had it and I want to congratulate them.”

“We are not despaired with Kotoko loss. The season is about to start and we will go to the drawing board to correct our mistakes and I promise all Ashanti Gold fans that we will definitely defend our league title come next season.”

Alhassan Nuhu bagged in four goals for New Edubiase last season.
