Out-going Ghana Premier League board chief Welbeck Abra-Appiah has hailed the work ethics of his deputy Ashford Tetteh Oku, as the race for his successor gathers momentum.
Tetteh Oku has been hailed for his deep-seated understanding of football administration with widespread believe he will be the ideal person to take over the mantle.
The former Hearts of Oak administrative manager is seen as a credible person whose integrity and technical know-how is unrivaled among those competing for the position.
“Ashford is a great person. He’s a hardworking man who can equally serve in that capacity,†he said
“But I’m not in a position to determine who succeeds me. I believe I will make my views known to the FA president when we meet.
“But I can say that he’s competent. I know others are also lobbying for the position.â€
Abra-Appiah has been at the helm of the PLB for the past ten years but has decided to move on after distinguishing himself.
The experienced banker has been largely credited with the transformation of the current format of the top-flight league despite been rocked with problems.
He has confirmed he will not be seeking a renewal of his mandate at the end of the current campaign
