Out of favour Inter defender targeted by Everton

Published on: 16 December 2015

Inter’s Nemanja Vidic could see himself returning to the English Premier League as Everton are reportedly interested in him.

The former Manchester United player appears to be out of favour at Inter this season, as Nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini prefers the duo of Miranda and Jeison Murillo at the heart of the defence. Although the Toffees have recruited Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori, coach Roberto Martinez is still looking for additional defensive cover.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Mancini is set to terminate Vidic’s contract next month.

Everton aren’t the only English club chasing the signature of the 34-year-old as Aston Villa have also joined the race as they look to add to their defensive ranks.

Vidic notched up a total of 23 appearances for the Milanese giants while scoring one goal after arriving from England in 2014.
