Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo says he is now ready to prove to the fans he was worth the buy two seasons ago.

The 22-year-old has not lived up to his high billing since joining the Phobians two seasons ago from Heart of Lions.

The burly striker has come under intense criticisms from the Hearts of Oak fans for being overweight.

Fiamenyo has also struggled with injuries since joining Hearts but he says he is now fully fit and ready to prove himself in the coming season.

“A lot of people say I am overweight but then I was out injured,” he said.

“I am now determined to work very hard this season to ensure that I do well for the fans.”

Fiamenyo is part of the current Hearts of Oak crop who will be working under new coach Herbert Addo who was appointed last week to replace Mohammed Polo.
