Defender John Paintsil is aiming at helping Ghana end it's wait for an African title as he makes his fifth Nations Cup appearance in South Africa.
The 31-year-old joins Richard Kingson and Abedi Pele as the only Ghanaian players to have made five appearances at a Nations Cup final.
The Hapoel Tel Aviv defender now wants to make this fear even more memorable by helping the Black Stars end a 31-year wait for an African title.
ââ¬ÅThis tournament I will say will be the most important one in my career, ââ¬Å he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
ââ¬ÅI am therefore ready to help the team win the trophy to make it even an even more memorable achievement rather than it being my fifth appearance at the tournament.ââ¬
Paintsil is part of Ghanaââ¬â¢s provisional 26-man squad that will be heading to Abu Dhabi early January for a pre-Nations Cup camp.
He is however more likely to make the final cut that will travel to South Africa for the tournament proper.
Ghana is drawn in Group B which will be based in Port Elizabeth alongside Mali, Niger and DR Congo.
