Palermo coach happy with Sassuolo draw

Palermo coach Giovanni Tedesco was pleased with his side’s effort against Sassuolo.

The Rosanero emerged with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against the Neroverdi at Mapei Stadium and Tedesco is noticing improvements from his side.

“This is a very important point on the back of a poor performance against AC Milan,” Tedesco told RaiSport.

“We studied Sassuolo and I feel that the team did what the coaching staff had asked of them.”

Tedesco was then asked to touch on his opponents, to whom the former Genoa player was full of praise.

“Sassuolo are very strong at home so avoiding defeat was a positive result in itself,” Tedesco added.

“You just need to look at their bench to see that Di Francesco has a very strong squad at his disposal.

“Along with Napoli, they play the best football in Serie A.”

Defender Achraf Lazaar was sent off in the 74th minute which means that Tedesco will need to replace him for Palermo’s next match against Torino.

“Rispoli could be a solution but  he is not the only option we have,” Tedesco concluded.
