Italian side Palermo have signed Ghanaian youngster Afriyie Acquah for four years after impressing the officials of the club.

The midfielder moves from Sunyani-based second-tier side DC United for an undisclosed fee.

Acquah,18, showed a lot of promise during his three-month stay at Palermo and has been promised a place in the first team.

"He impressed on trials and they want to hand him a first team place in the Serie A. He proved to be good and I can tell you that there's a bright future for this young lad," his local agent Oliver Arthur told Ghanasoccernet.com.

He has been in Ghana for the past two weeks to sort out his work permit.
