Paris Saint-Germain star linked with sensational AC Milan return

Despite strong interest from Manchester United, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could quit Paris Saint-Germain this summer and rejoin Italian side AC Milan.

The Swedish international spent two years with the Rossoneri after a nightmarish stint with Barcelona, scoring 56 goals in 85 appearances in the red and black jersey.

The next chapter in his career took him to the French capital, and despite dominating Ligue 1 with PSG, the 34 year-old could be about to make a surprising return to Milan according to his agent Mino Raiola.

“Ibrahimovic, he could return to Italy, to Milan,” Raiola was quoted in a brief interview with Italia GQ.

Having previously played for both Inter and Juventus, this would be the first time Ibrahimovic has re-signed with a former team; having accumulated a transfer total close to â‚¬200m.

A move to Manchester United is understood to be dependent on whether Louis van Gaal remains at Old Trafford, with European football an obvious enticement.

Milan may struggle to free the necessary funds this summer amidst complications over ownership, with their own participation in Europe far from certain.

Ibrahimovic has already confirmed he will be leaving when his contract expires in June, but the destination is still uncertain.
