Partick Thistle defender Lee Mair has hailed the signing of Prince Buaben in their relegation dog-fight in the Scottish Premier League.

The former Dundee United midfielder, 25, joined the Scottish side from League one side Carlisle United during the January transfer window.

The Ghana international has hit the ground running with impressive performances for the Jags.

Mair, who also joined from St Mirren, has been impressed with the signing of the 25-year-old.

"Buaben is a great signing,” he said

"He has plenty of experience for a guy who is still relatively young.

"He has a Scottish Cup winner's medal behind him as well as experience of the English Championship with Watford.

"He has composure, can spot a pass and likes to get forward and he is only going to get sharper.

"I think Prince can be a major player for us down the stretch."

Buaben spent four seasons at Tannadice and was in the United team that won the Scottish Cup in 2010.

A graduate of the famous Ajax Academy in Amsterdam, Buaben moved to Vicarge Road in 2011.
