Peter Bosz: Dortmund are more than just two in-form strikers

Borussia Dortmund turned on all their style at home, crushing Monchengladbach 6-1, with Aubameyang earning a hat-trick. Herculez Gomez and Sebastian Salazar debate whether Christian Pulisic can win the prestigious Golden Boy award.

Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz said his side are more than just a pair of strikers after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Maximilian Philipp combined for five goals in a 6-1 rout of Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

The in-form pair have now scored 10 of the 14 goals Dortmund have plundered in their last three games, but Bosz said the credit should be spread throughout the team.

"Across the course of the match it was really a lot of fun to watch Dortmund play. The team should be lauded for playing as they did three days after the Hamburg game," Bosz said.

"The players who were involved in the build-up to the goals also played a very important role. Therefore, in my opinion, it was a remarkable team performance that we showed here today.

"You don't win 6-1 against a well organised opponent with just two strikers."

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored three goals and hit the post a further three times on Saturday.

Lars Stindl's consolation goal for Gladbach was the first Dortmund conceded in the league this term. Goalkeeper Roman Burki had gone 515 minutes without conceding.

"We played very well, both with the ball, but also off it," Bosz said. "We didn't allow our opponent the time to string together more than two or three passes, rather won possession back for ourselves immediately.

"When we did lose the ball, our opponent had good chances. Roman was a stable presence there, though."

But Bosz admitted that Tuesday's game against Real Madrid in the Champions League would be a different challenge entirely.

"The players are fresh and we're playing good football. Real is another level," Bosz said.
