Team manager Cristian Vlad says Petrolul are keen on sealing a deal with Asante Kotoko for a friendly match due to the great history behind the two clubs.

Officials of the Romanian club are in Kumasi to negotiate a friendly match with the Ghanaian champions in September.

The match will be the biggest game played by Kotoko in recent times as they look to revive and energize their massive following.

Petrolul team manager Cristian Vlad says he is excited by this prospect due to the rich history between the clubs.

“These are big clubs with big history so the friendly will be in the best interest of both teams,” he said.

“Petrolul was formed in 1924 and Kotoko in 1931 so both teams have big history and the match will be good.”

Petrolul are currently third in the Romanian top flight.
