PFAG and SIC officials visit injured Kotoko players and staff

Member of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and officials of State Insurance Company (SIC) visited injured players and technical staff of Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Friday.

Leadership of the PFAG sympathised with the Porcupine Warriors and expressed their condolences for the departure of the assistant Equipment Officer of the club who passed on as a result of the accident.

General Secretary of the PFAG Anthony Baffoe and SIC's acting MD Faris Atriki led a powerful delegation which included players and coaches as well as the insurers to wish Kotoko well after the club had an accident at Nkawkaw on Wednesday.

Prince Polley, Sampson Appiah, Solomon Torson, Thomas Duah and Yusuf Chibsah all accompanied the team.

The officials are expected to meet all players and officials of Kotoko again today as part of efforts to boost the psychological makeup of the team after the traumatic accident.

The Porcupine Warriors met the tragic accident on their way to Kumasi from Accra after a Premier league game with Inter Allies, a game the visitors lost by a lone goal.

Many players including Baba Mahama, Ashitttey Olennu and Michael Akuffo were seriously injured as well as head coach Steve Pollack.

Recent reports are that the I jure are responding to treatment positively.
