Philemon McCarthy has called for calm

Hearts goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has liken the club’s current poor form to the disastrous campaign of Manchester United and calls for calm in the wake of mounting difficulties.

The former African champions have made hard work of their Premier League title ambitions after slipping to fourth on the table.

The 25-year-old, who picked up three balls from his net during the 3-0 drubbing at home by All Stars, says the club’s present quandary is not peculiar, citing English giants Manchester United as a perfect example.

"We know what is happening now is not the best and not what everybody wishes but this situation happens to many clubs in the world. Even the Barcelona's, the Liverpools and look at Manchester United's situation, it’s really the same with Hearts now,” he is quoted as saying

"For now I know it’s really hard time for them and they really fought for what they wanted and they never had it so most of them have gone back to their shield but this is Hearts of Oak and its like a family.

"They are a pillar of the club and if they are not there the team is hanging, we all witnessed the bad results and it’s really painful because the club is like a blood that runs through them but we are calling on them to remain calm and support us".

The Accra-based side will travel to Dorma to face Aduana Stars on Sunday.
