Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris says he would achieve one of his career goals if he plays at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals Brazil.

The 22-year-old has been a firm staple of the Black Stars squad and remains one of the sure bets to make this summer’s tournament.

“As for the world cup it’s a dream for all young players and obviously I am one. One day if I get to play in the world cup then I would have lived one of my goals as a football,” Waris said.

“I have been called for the next friendly game for my country. I have been part of the team for some time now and have played in some important games for my country.”

Waris has been in top form at club and has registered four goals in eight matches since joining French Ligue 1 side Valenciennes on loan in January from Spartak Moscow.
